Grace Community Church & New Canaan Football Notch Win for Bags of Love

New Canaan football teams have their hands full trying to maintain a tradition of excellence. Grace Community Church is a vibrant and active member of the New Canaan Community with a full roster of programs and activities. That’s what makes their recent effort to support our Bags of Love program even more inspiring.

Parents and players from the town’s 5th and 7th grade youth football program recently organized a drive to collect items for Circle of Care’s Bags of Love. Joining in this effort during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month was the Grace Community Church, whose membership organized its own drive to provide much-needed items for the bags. The result was overwhelming, in just a few short weeks, the New Canaan community rallied to support Circle of Care.

“When a family in our community suffers, we all suffer,” said Liz Salguero, Circle of Care President and Co-Founder. “A diagnosis of cancer is a difficult experience, and the journey through treatment is hard. But when members of our community come together to support those in need, it sends the message that we are not alone, that there are people who care. That we can find a way to come together as a community when tragedy strikes someone’s life offers hope, and sends a message about love that really does resonate.”
