Go Gold This September

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

In 2012, a presidential proclamation recognizing National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month was issued to raise awareness about childhood cancer - the leading cause of death by disease for children under 14. In the U.S., more than 15,000 children are diagnosed annually, including the 350+ Connecticut families in treatment for cancer every year.

You Can Help! Let's Go Gold, Together.

This September, help us shine a light on families facing their child's cancer diagnosis. We believe kids with cancer need more than medicine to heal, and with your help, we plan to turn more Connecticut towns “gold” to spread awareness and to let families know they are not facing this cancer journey alone... Here are some ideas:

Ribbon Your Town

Contact your town selectman and ask about creating buzz by “going gold” in downtown centers and ribboning trees or lamposts. Ask about a town proclamation and encourage local media coverage!

"Gold Out" Your Home Game

Reach out to your high school Athletic Director and inspire them to have a "Gold Out" for their home game in September! Last year, we featured one of the kids in our Circle singing the national anthem at a game and were covered by News 12 on primetime!

Inspire Business Support

Encourage local businesses to show their support by creatively decorating and displaying our gold wreath - engage customers by voting for which is best!

Host a Gathering

Hosting a cocktail party or a gathering in your home is an easy and fun way to show your support and spread awareness about our mission, events, volunteer opportunities, and the many ways to get involved. Circle of Care can help you design an invitation, provide pamphlets, brochures, and other information, as well as inspiring pictures and stories for a display to help your evening succeed!

Show You CARE

Show the world you care by encouraging the purchase of our lawn signs for display in front of a place of business or a front yard!
