More about Liz Vega
Board Member since 2015
What is your professional experience? Why did you choose to get involved with Circle of Care?
Before joining our Board, Liz worked as Director of Government Relations at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Her role at MSK gave her an understanding of the cancer experience, and as a mother of four children, she wanted to get involved with the community to help children who need it the most.
What do you do with Circle of Care?
After being on the board for 4 years, Liz became the Co-Executive Director of Circle of Care, overseeing all of our development initiatives. This includes events, grants, corporate partnerships, and building relationships with individual donors, which enable us to branch out into the community and form relationships that help us build a stable foundation. Over the past decade, Liz has also been an active member of our committees, including Finance, Resource Development, Strategic Planning, and every event committee. She also played an instrumental part in creating the Childhood Cancer Alliance of CT, of which Circle of Care is a fiduciary agent. As our organization has evolved over the years, her leadership has played a critical role in managing our rapid growth and providing structure and professionalism. One of Liz's favorite things is reaching out to her community to attract new people into our Circle as volunteers, supporters, and board members.
What do you do in your free time?
Liz enjoys traveling and prioritizes physical fitness, including running, playing tennis, and walking her dog, Ollie.
