Press Release: Make Tracks for kids with cancer

For Immediate Release

Connecticut’s Only Statewide Childhood Cancer Walk/Run Comes to Sherwood Island This September
Circle of Care’s annual “Make Tracks” event invites the community to run, walk, and rally support for families facing childhood cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Westport, CT – On Sunday, September 28, Circle of Care will host Make Tracks at Sherwood Island State Park—Connecticut’s only statewide walk and 5K run supporting all families in the state facing childhood cancer.

For the past decade, Circle of Care’s Walk/Run has brought the community together in Wilton. This year, the event relocates to Sherwood Island, reflecting the organization’s expanded reach and growing impact across Connecticut. Each year, about 200 children in the state are diagnosed with cancer, with more than 500 in treatment at any given time.

Open to the public, Make Tracks offers something for everyone: a timed 5K for runners and joggers, a relaxed untimed walk for all abilities, and activities for all ages. The event raises both awareness and vital funds to help Circle of Care provide practical, emotional, and financial support to families when it matters most—and there’s no better time to show support than during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.

This event is presented by ASML. Other major sponsors include Northwestern Mutual Tri-Harbor Financial Group, Inspira Marketing Group, JP Morgan Chase & Co., STAR 99.9, and John Schiaroli of Coldwell Banker Realty. Make Tracks supports all families of kids with cancer in Connecticut through Circle of Care.
