Get Involved as an Individual

At the Hospital
We train and certify those interested in volunteering at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital on the hematology/oncology floor to ensure each volunteer has an empathetic understanding of what families are facing. Volunteering at the hospital is ideal for those who can offer a significant time commitment and who will be able to volunteer for longer than one season.

All volunteers must apply through Yale New Haven Health to be accepted to the hospital's volunteer program. Volunteers chosen to work on the pediatric hematology/oncology floor will receive supplemental training from Circle of Care. If you have any questions about Circle of Care's training, email us here.

Help Deliver our Program Services
Volunteer as a driver to hand-deliver our services like Bags of Love℠ and holiday gift packages. The need for Bags of Love℠ support is ongoing, and the need for a driver will change weekly. Our holiday gifts are delivered in mid-December and offer the flexibility to choose the available driving "route" that works for you. Both opportunities allow you to directly impact a family in our Circle by delivering comfort and joy right to their front door!

To volunteer to deliver our support to families, email lisa.williams@thecircleofcare.org.

Join a Committee
Please help us to continue our mission by joining one of our committees. Joining a committee is typically less of a time commitment than a board position but offers an opportunity to impact our work. We are always looking for individuals to help in the following areas:

Marketing: Help raise awareness! Opportunities include creating web copy, TikTok/Reels, press relations, and other forms of communication. Interested in helping out our marketing team? Email heather.stabinsky@thecircleofcare.org

Resource Development: Skilled at grant writing and relationship building? Analytical and task-driven? This committee's opportunities include grant writing and corporate partnership development. Email liz.vega@thecircleofcare.org to get involved.

Special Events: We're always looking for new members to bring fresh perspectives to the following committees.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Assist with our efforts to raise awareness in August and September. If you want to spread the word and turn your town, school, or workplace "gold" for childhood cancer, please email lisa.williams@thecircleofcare.org. Planning begins the summer before each September.

5K Committee: Our annual CARE to Run 5K fundraiser occurs in the spring each year. Are you a runner? Interested in event creation? Join us in planning our next 5K and help us take it to the next level this year! Planning for the next event begins in January.

Golf Committee: Our annual CARE to Swing golf event occurs each fall at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton. Planning begins the spring before each event. To get involved, email lisa.williams@thecirclefocare.org.

Gala/Spring Event Committee: Each year, we host a spring/summer fundraising event to support our programs and services. This is one of our most important fundraising events of the year. Please email liz.vega@thecircleofcare.org if you are interested in getting involved. Planning begins in January before each event.
